I run as fast as I can. I have to get away before they realize what I did and that I am running away. Mostly because of the Alpha scare me to death. It’s been about six hours since I accepted his rejected and took off. I finally found a water hole, I shift into my human form. I lay down next to the waterhole. “What did I do so wrong to get a life like this” there was a growl coming from the other side of the waterhole. I sit up and see a pure brown wolf. He doesn’t have very much power coming off him, so I know he is not an alpha or a beta. Which means he is a fighter or a patrolman. Oh, shit that means I am on someone’s pack land.

“Rouge what are you doing on our lands? What is your name?” He asks walking around the waterhole. “My name is Choley New, I didn’t know this was pack land. I am just passing through. I won’t get into any trouble. I will be off your land by nightfall.” I say hoping he will let me go.

“I can’t let you go. My Alpha wants to see you.” He says “So come with me. We will see what he does with you.” Oh shit, he might kill me. “He rarely kills anyone. The only time he has killed someone was about a year after he became Alpha.”

“But he has killed someone so he could do it again,” I say slowly walking behind him. “Since I told you my name can you tell me yours?” He nods

“James”

“That’s a good name,” the rest of the walk was in silence. After about six or seven minutes we arrived at a six-story high building. “Are we here?” He nods

“What are you doing here rouge? And with my mate?” A she-wolf growls at me. I just look down at the ground.

“Lucy, she was found by me on our land and I have to take her to the Alpha, you know that. So please move so I can do my job.” He says kissing the top of her head. She nods and movies out of our way. “Follow me.” I nod and do as he says. As we are walking up the stairs I get weird/dirty looks from most of the people from the pack. The ones that aren’t giving me dirty looks are looking at me with sad eyes. He stood and I ran into him. “He’s in there. Good luck, you’ll need it because he is not in a great mood.”

“You’re not going in with me?” He shakes his head.

“I’m not allowed to.” He says and walks away. I raise my hand and knock on the door.

“Come in.” Someone says from the other side of the door. I open the door and can’t see a thing. “Someone get the pack nurse.” I hear before the blackness takes over. I woke up in a hospital bed. I grown and grab my head. What happen to me? “Oh good your wake.” Someone says from the door scaring the crap out of me.

“Please don’t kill me,” I say trying to move out of the bed.

“Oh sweetie, I will never kill someone who doesn’t deserve it and from what I can tell you don’t deserve it.” He says walking up to my bed. ‘Are you okay?’ I ask my wolf. I don’t get a response back.

“what’s wrong with my wolf?” I asked trying to hold back the tears that are threatening to spill.

“I think it is time for me to go get the doctor,” he says getting up and walking out the door. he comes in a few minutes later with the person I am guessing to be the doctor.

“Ma’am, Do you know where you are?”

“No, not really, I was never told the packs name.”

“Do you know your name?”

“Yes, I am Jamie Ann New.”

“Okay, good. Do you remember what happened on the days before you passed out?”

“Yeah, I was beaten by my old Alpha until I passed out, then when I woke up I was rejected by my mate. then I ran here, where ever is here.” I stop to think if anything else happened. “that’s all of it.” she nods then looks at the guy standing by the door, I look over and see Xavier. I start trying to get out of the bed. “no get him away from me.” I scream at the top of my lungs.

“That’s not her name!” He says calmly.

“What’s her name then?”

“Choley Marie New. Jamie Ann New was her mother’s name.” He steps closer to me and I fall off the edge.

“Okay, thank you but Sir, you are not allowed in here, the Alpha’s orders,” she says.

“I don’t care what he has to say. that is my mate and she is coming with me,” he says. I look at her and see her eyes are glazed over, telling me that she is mind-linking, someone, most likely the Alpha.

“My Alpha says go to his office and talk to him, Alpha Xavier.”

“I will be back to get her later today,” he says and storms out of the room.

“Please hide me. I am scared to go back with him.” I crying.

“Oh sweetie, Jackson won’t let anyone take you away,” she says sitting on my bad.

“Why not?” I ask her.

“Because you are HIS mate.”

“What’s wrong with my wolf?” she looks at me like I have lost my mind.

“What do you mean?”

“I can’t contact her. it’s like she isn’t there anymore.”

“Oh my dear, this is worse then I thought.” She says getting up “I will be right back. I need to go get some tubes to draw some blood, so I can run some tests. Okay?” I nod my head and she runs out of the room. About four minutes later she is back and taking some of my blood. “The tests I am going to do will take about three to four days for us to get results back.” I nod my head.

“Can I see this Jackson?” I ask and she nods.

“He will be here in a few hours to see and talk to you. So get some rest.” She says and walks out with the tubes full of blood. I lay down on the bed. Trying to not listen to what others are saying near my room. Right as I fall asleep someone barges into my room.

“She can’t be your mate. She was mine first.” Someone yells.

“Did you reject her?” A calmer voice says

“Yes, but that’s not the point, she is my mat-“

“Did she accept the rejection?”

“Yes.”

“Then she is not your mate anymore. So I will ask one more time nicely before I have you removed from my land. Please leave and don’t come back for her!” The calmer person says.

“What am l going to do? She was my mate, my one and only.” He says heartbroken.

“Should have thought about that before you rejected her.” The calmer voice says. I hear the door shut. “Sweetie, I know your wake. No one that I know would be able to sleep through all of that.” He says, “it’s safe. No one is going to hurt you again. I promise.”

“Don’t make promises you can’t keep,” I say opening one eye.

“What’s your name?” He asks.

“I think it is Jamie but I was told it was Choley New, yours?”

“Jackson.” “From what you’ve been told is right, it is Choley,” “Now, If you say it’s Jamie, we will get it changed to that if you would like. Whichever name you choose will be as beautiful as you are.” He says sitting down on my bed.

I look away from him. He has to be lying. “You’re Lying, you have to be,” I say moving away from him. I looking him in the eyes. “I am not any different from the other girls around here,” I state trying to get him to leave. “Please just leave. I don’t need someone telling me lies to me, so please leave.” he shakes his head.

“I am not lying to you. I can promise you that. As for me leaving it’s not going to happen. You are my mate. So whether you like it or not, I am not leaving you.”

“I can’t have a mate. I got rejected.” When does this ever happen? NEVER that’s when. “I know this doesn’t make sense but it is the truth. I am your mate and I will not hurt you. I can promise that.” he says sitting on the floor. “I’ll sit here so we can talk and you can set on the bed so you can feel safe.” I start to panic because he could hurt me before I get a chance to move. The door burst open. I fall off the bed before I can see who it is. I pop my head up over the bed as Xavier slowly comes into the room. “I felt her panic.” He says and Justin growls. I feel the power coming off both of them. “I told you nicely to leave.” Justin slams him onto the closest wall. I whimper. Why did I feel the pain when he hit the wall? No, that’s not happening. Justin punches Xavier in the stomach and I scream moving my hands to my stomach in pain. “What did you do to my mate?” Justin yells running over to me as Xavier falls to the floor.

“Okay, boys enough fighting for today. I don’t think she will be able to handle anymore. I’ve gotten her blood and I am running tests on it. I now need his blood” Pointing to Xavier. “and you’re blood” she points to Justin. “Now come with me or I will take your blood by force.”

 “Yes, Laural,” Justin growls setting me on the bed and pushing Xavier out with him. She stays and walks over to me.

“Look, I can stop Xavier from coming back tonight but I can’t stop Justin. Now, I can stop them from fighting.”

“How?”

“Justin is my Alpha but I am his sister and if I tell mother or father about what’s going on here they will be back as soon as they can. He doesn’t want that because they just left the day you showed up. So, I have my ways.” She sits on the bed. “Can I see where it hurts?” I nod lifting the gown up showing her my somatic. I think you guys have a blood bond, but I have to do more research to understand more. I have to go before they come back in here.” she rushes out of the room. I let myself smile a little bit. I fall asleep.

 My mom and I were in the woods going for a run. It’s something we did together every now and then to get away from day to day life. She was telling me that she had a surprise to show me. But she wouldn’t tell me what… (Ugh). My mom and dad are fighters for the moonlight pack, which means I have a warrior’s soul inside me. “Choley, we’re here!” I look around and see this magnificent waterfall flowing gently out of the plateau towering above us. “I found this place on a run with the pack. Isn’t it lovely?” She smiles. I nod and look back at the waterfall. Only this time I see someone approaching us. 

“Who’s that?” My mom looks startled and signals me to go behind shelter. “But mom-” She shushes me and motions for me to behind the rock again. She shifts into her werewolf form. Which her wolf is a big brown wolf with white paws. I did as she said and found a large rock to hide behind. After what seemed like an eternity I hear my mom whimper. I ran over to my side, she was covered in blood. I hugged her and begged for her to walk up. She won’t wake up “Wake up mom. You can’t leave me.” My mom’s body sways lifelessly in my arms as I shake it… Her eyes were open and looking at where I was hiding. I got up ran back toward the Packhouse yelling “Help, Help my mom is hurt really bad” I was hoping that she was just knocked out. Jade, the pack doctor, runs up to me.

“Choley, I need you to show me where your mom is.” Jade says “Follow me. She is at the waterfall.” I say running back into the woods. 

“What waterfall?!” She yells running after me. Once we got to where she was Jade Mind-linked with the pack to send one of the warriors to come and take my mom back to the pack infirmary.  “Choley, help will be here soon. But for now Alpha Black would like to see you.” Jade tells me as she motions back to the pack. I nodded my head and ran as fast as I could back home. When I got back to the packhouse there was a guard outside of the pack infirmary. 

“Choley, I need you to come with me.” Justin, the guard says. I nod my head. Once Justin and I were standing outside of Alpha Black’s office he turned to me “This is where I leave. All I have to say to you is I am truly sorry this has to happen.” He says walking away

“What’s going to happen? What do you mean? Why are you sorry?” I yell back at him as I started crying. 

“I am not allowed to answer those questions. Just know I am truly sorry.” He says without even turning around…leaving me to face the Alpha by myself. I turn back around to the door and take a deep breath and knocked on the door. 

“Come in.” Alpha Black says. As I open the door I see that he’s the only one here. Normally when I have had to talk to him or the beta my mom and dad was there because I am not of age yet.

“You wanted to see me sir?”

“Please take a seat.” He says as he points to the seat in front of his desk. “So can you tell me what you and your mom were doing in the woods today?” I nod my head looking down at the ground.

“We were in the woods because my mom wanted to show me this new place she had come across when doing ground patrol last night. Since it wasn’t a school day she thought it would be a good idea for us to spend the day together. So we packed a lunch and went out. It turned out to be a waterfall right near the end of our land. We got there and immediately I see someone walk up from the other side of the lake”. I look up to him to see if he has any questions so far. After about a minute I continued “I asked my mom who that person was and she told me to get behind the rock. But once I got behind the rock I froze in place because I heard a whimper come from behind me. I turn around to see if it was my mom the first thing I see is the stranger not even 2 feet from my face. He said ‘I will be back for you my princess.’ and was gone in a blink of an eye. I ran to my mom trying to wake her up and when she wouldn’t wake up I ran back towards her yelling for help.” As I finished telling what happen I was crying. Then there was a knock on the door.

“Come in” Alpha Black says. The door opens and Jade comes in.

“I regret to inform you, Summer has passed away.” As she says that I scream.

“No.” I fall out of my seat and land on the ground crying. “No. No. No. This can’t be happening. I can’t lose my mom.” I sob.

“Have you told Jackson?”

“He said he wanted to be alone.” She says.

“Okay. Thank you.” He says dismissing her from the room. “You may go now too” I nod my head. Standing up was hard. My legs felt like jelly. I try to walk to the door but got about four steps and fell. I tried again and again until I was out of his office. Right as I fall to the floor Alec Black walks by.

“Choley are you okay?” he says catching me right before I hit the ground.

“Not really…”

“What happened?” He asks

“My mom” I sob a little harder “she was” I take a breath trying to come down a little. “Killed” I start sobbing as hard as I could.

“It’ll be okay. Let’s get you to your room so you can rest. How does that sound?” I nod my head. He picks me up bridal style and walks to my room. Right as he opens my door there was a gunshot coming from my mom and dad’s room. I jump out of his arms and run into their room and see my dad lying on the ground with a gun in his hand. “Oh. My. God. Choley, come here.” I hear Alec but he sounds so far away. I fell to the ground and screamed. The next thing I knew I was being hit upside the head. I look at the person who hit me it was Alpha Black. He was saying something but I couldn’t understand what. He kept hitting me until I started to see black dots then there was darkness. 

Dream…“Mom, please don’t go!” the little girl says crying. “Sweetie, I have to go. You know that.” She says trying to get up, but gets pulled back down to the bed. “Look, mommy will be back. Okay?” the little girl nods her head. “Mom? Can I go with you?” the woman shakes her head. “No. you know you can’t.” “Why can’t I see daddy?” The woman starts crying. “You know you’re daddy loves you. But he is busy. He is working really hard to keep the pack together.” The woman says. “That’s not my daddy.” the little girl says. “If he is my daddy and you are my mommy, how come I don’t look like you guys?” she has a point she doesn’t look like the woman.” Look, sweetie, we love you. That’s all that should matter.” she says and leaves the room. End of dream.

I try opening my eyes but I can’t. I try a few more times before everything came flooding back to me. My mom dying and my dad killing himself. Then I getting beat. I hear footsteps over the beeping noise. Then my door open. “Doctor. How come she hasn’t woken’ up yet?” a women says.

“I really don’t know,” Jade says

“Ace, I think it is time to get back to work.” the woman says.

“I can’t let my dad near her,” he growls.

“I know sweetie but~” she tries but gets cut off by him.

“But nothing. I can’t leave her to get killed.” he growls “Now everyone out.” I hear the door open and close. He sighs. “Choley, please I need you to wake up. You have been out for a year now. Your birthday is in less than a week away. You will be able to find your mate. And hopefully leave this pack, you deserve better than what has happened to you.” he pauses for a minute. “I need to go greet the guests and right after that, I will be back. I promise you as your next-in-line Alpha I will not let my dad near you.” he kisses my forehead and I hear the door open and close. I try to open my eyes once more and they open and I close them because I am blinded by a bright light. I open them again trying to get used to the light. Once my eyes are used to the light I look around and see that I am in a hospital room. Right as I look out the window, I hear a vicious growl. It sounds like it is coming from the packhouse. I hid under the covers for who knows how long. Then my door slammed open.

“Where is she?” a man growls. He pulls the blanket off me. I look up and see it is the alpha from the pack over. His eyes are black with anger as he looks over my body. I try to scoot away from him. When he sees that his eyes soften. He reaches out and I flinched away. “What’s your name?”

“Choley. Choley New.” I say trying to get away from him so I don’t get hurt. That’s when Ace walks in.

“My name is Xavier.”

“Choley.” he comes running over to me. “I am so sorry, for what he did.”

“Who did what to her?” Xavier growls.

“You already know. That’s why I brought you here. To remove my dad from power. This is the pack member I told you about.” Xavier lets out a vicious growl, it was the same one from earlier. He moves closer to me and I move back, falling off the bed, but before I hit the floor he had a hold of me. He leans into my neck and sniffs.

“Mine” he growls. I am too scared to move let alone open my eyes again. “Please open your eyes I want to see those bright beautiful green eyes again.” I open my eyes and look him right in his blue ones. He moves his hand up to my face. I flinch away. “I, Xavier Armstrong, reject you, Choley New, as my mate and as my Luna.” I feel like my life was just ripped from me again.

“Alpha Xavier, she just lost her only family.” Ace says.

“Once I get your dad out of power, I will be leaving,” he says pushing me off him and walking out of my room. I start crying my eyes out.

“Choley, I-“

“Don’t. Please just leave. I want to be alone.” I say. He gets up and walks away. How come he rejected me? I get up and walk out of my room straight to the woods. I come across the waterfall. I walk over to the edge. Should I just jump and get this over with? 

‘No. please don’t’ says a voice.

“Who’s there?” I yell

‘It’s me your wolf. My name is Summer.’ says the voice.

‘Why don’t you want to die? Our mate just rejected us.’

‘I need you to accept the rejection. We will be in less pain that way.’

‘Fine.’ I say walking back to the packhouse. I find Xavier sitting in the living room. “I, Choley New, accept Xavier Armstrong’s rejection” he clutches his chest and screams. Regret flashes through his eyes. “Have a good life Xavier.” I run out of the packhouse into the woods.

 ‘Almost over’ I keep telling myself as I am being yelled at for the food not being done on time. ‘At least this is better than last time.’ Something my mother sang to me when I was three helps me get through times like this one, I will not be moved. Is the song she sang all the time to me and my brother. I wish he was here to help me, but he left, without a goodbye. I haven’t seen him in fourteen years and since he left I became the pack’s punching bag. What comes with being their punching bag is that I don’t eat every day I’m only aloud to eat once a week, I also have to clean every room and cook every meal. They say I that I am the reason why my mother was killed, my dad is the alpha, my own dad hates me and I didn’t do anything wrong. So this is where my story start.

“Kane, come let the her off this time. This is the first time.” Beta John says looking at me. “She has been good this week.” He says putting a hand on my father’s shoulder “She used to be everything you wanted when she was 12-years-old. What happen?” he says pointing to the door. I do as I am told.

“She looks so much like her mother I can’t take it, I miss her so much. It’s been four years and she looks more and more like her mother every day.” I run into the room.

“And you don’t think I miss her too.” I sob running outside. I can hear him running after me.

“Get your ass back her young lady.” He yells.

“She was my mom. Hope you know that I can’t even look in the mirror because of it.” I yell stopping out in the middle of the pack grounds and see people gathering around us, some holding their hands over their months. Today was the first time I talked since my mother died.

“I didn’t want a girl. I never did” he says and everyone gasps.

“Don’t you think I know that.” I snap earning a slap. “I wish I was dead.” There was a loud growl and arms were around me in a flash. Then I smelled rotting flesh mixed with the smell of the ocean.

“Xavier Let her go. You are not here to get into trouble and start another war are you?” Xavier’s grip tightens on me, but not in a bad way. He growls again.

“Mine, you will not die.” He growls. Wait I know why this isn’t in a bad way, it’s because he is my mate. I snuggle into his arms earning a growl from my father. “She is mine and If you land a hand on her again I will get both councils to come here and strip your tilde away.” He says letting me go, but not too far away. He turns to me. “And you are not going to die.” I nod my head,

“You can’t take the only Soon-to-be.” Beta John says.

“You really think he was going to give me the tilde after four years of hating me? I don’t think so. The only way I was going to become alpha was on his death bed or after he dies. Everyone here knows that.” I say walking toward the wood, Xavier close behind me, “I just want to be alone for a little bit.”

“Not going to happen. I am not losing you. I also heard everything that was said. So I just want to hold you.” I the tears start falling. I shake my head.

“Please I promise I won’t do anything, I won’t harmful to myself.” I say trying to get him to head back.

“I am not leaving and that’s final.” He snaps. I raise my hands up in surrender.

“Fine, but you will need to keep up.” I take off running toward the water fall where my grandma was killed saving my mom when she was 12-years-old. Once I get there I fall to the ground sobbing. “Why did you leave me with my step dad? Who hates me because I was the only one you could have?” I sob as Xavier wrapped his arms around me. “I’m don’t even have a wolf.” I say. “I want to meet my really dad but I know I can’t because he died when his alpha went crazy.” I say looking into Xavier’s Bright green eyes, one of his eyes is covered by his jet-black hair. He is as pale as the peach color pencil. I’m 5”5 and he’s 6″. Oh god he is so fucking hot. I just want to kiss him.

“Then why don’t you?” he asks

“I said that out-loud didn’t I?” he nods and kisses me on the forehead. “Then kiss me already.” I say pushing my lips to his and sparks fly. We pull away and look into each other’s eyes. the look in his eye shows he feels complete, but I can’t still feel this hole in my heart. because of this hole I look at the ground and see we are in a tree because I looked down he did too.

“How did we get up here?” He asks and I shrug, trying to stay calm.
