Um, what? This book is only 19 pages long. It a good book, I wish it was longer but within the pages it completes 90% of the story. She was unknowingly a blood sacrifice for a prince who wanted to bring forth 50 years of prosperity to his kingdom with him being the ruler. The Demon that the prince summoned stuck the bargain with the blood sacrifice. She is now the demon queen. The next fifty years went by with very little happening in a bad way. Hoping to read more from this author. I love this book.

I love a good Motorcycle club romance. Normally the ones that I listen/ read are well over 250 pages. I was pleasantly surprised that this one was only 81 pages. Just a two hours and ten minutes listen. Those two hours just flew by in a good way.

Eliza, the FMC, has been kept out of the limelight. Technically, her father held her captive within their home. Her father thought it was a good idea to “married” his daughter to someone, who is no good. Ghost, the MMC, has been watching her for a long time. When he found out that she is being “married” off against her will. He steps in and has a few of his fellow bikers kidnap her for her safety. Off page, they fall in love, while they are held up at a fellow biker’s cabin.

We don’t get the action of a fight scene, but this book doesn’t need it. The spicy level in this book is light compared to a few other MC romances. But, again the tension is there to make the spicy scenes feel real.

While I liked this book I don’t know if I will keep going with these books. I really do like the story having the action along side the spice.

  • I read this book on KU. There are going to be spoilers in this review.

The story line in this book has a lot of potential. It started out so strong. Thought I feel like parts of this book are missing. It jumps from one thing to another without much explanation. I got through 45% of the book when I started reading it. Mind it the first chapter had me wanting to close my window coverings, not because I was horny but because the book had my anxiety spiked. I quote “A figure. Tall. Still. A silhouette swallowed by shadow. Watching me.” That had me wanting to read more and put the book down at the same time. I read more and keep going until I got confused. What did Blake do in the past, that makes her family hate him. Also has she been getting stalked before Blake came back home or did it start that night? While the book states that she had been getting notes and gifts before he showed back up, but the theory is that Blake coming back started this whole thing. Also what was with the conovo that he had on the phone that she wasn’t to hear but heard anyway? Also if the room shifts with her warmth then how did she sneak up on him? By time I finished that book I was still very confused. I’m glad that they got together and her family forgave him but we don’t hear anything more about his family and why they hated her.

This book is a short read. Though it has a lot of content within it. This book mainly follows Helen and her Fiance, Ben. They are in the process of planning their wedding when Helen starts noticing that she is attracted to their wedding photographer. She is friends with a women who just opened her relationship, polyamory. At the start of the story Helen doesn’t agree with the polyamory lifestyle, though she supports her friend, she didn’t think that that was for her. When she talks to her friend she makes a statement that I agree with. “If you want more then ask for more!” She does this. She talks to Ben and he isn’t exactly on board with the idea of opening their relationship. I feel like he panics at her suggestion of it. I feel like her asking for it (Which I agree with her doing) made him doubt her feelings for him. Which leans to his panic. I understand his panic and needing time to think about it. I don’t like that he distant himself from her in the time he is taking to think about it. After visiting and helping take care of his grandma, he comes around to the idea. So, they sit down and come up with rules. I do not agree with one of the rules that they set, though I don’t get to see how the rules end up playing out because that’s in the next book. The rule that I don’t like or agree with is “not falling in love”. While on paper that’s an easy rule to follow but in practice it not that easy.

While I am wondering how their rules with play out, I’m not going to be reading the next book. The story isn’t something that I feel the need to keep reading about. It’s a good book, I’m just not that into it.

Now for the star ratings I’m giving this book.
I’m giving this book an overall rating of 4.5 of out of 5 stars.
The story is getting a rating of 4 out of 5 stars.
The writing style is getting a rating of 5 out of 5 stars.
The spicy level is getting a rating of 1out of 5 stars.

There is some talk about spice but nothing more than that. There’s no fade to black or off page, there is a mention of spice but nothing else on that front.

This story follows Vivian Callaro and Rafael Moresco. Rafeal believes the Vivian is the key to finding out who hired a hit man to kill his father three years ago. She just lost her father and Rafael thinks the same person hired a hit man to kill his father is the same person who hired a hit man to kill her father. He happens to be right but while he plans on using her as leverage. While they are “working” together, he starts falling for her. She falls for him as well but I wounder if they have had a crush on each other from a distant. While they are forcing out the rat within His org, the find out someone has been pulling the strings behind the scene. I’m trying to be vague and not give so much details. This is a good book and I want people to read it. I ready love the banter between these two and their unwillingness to let the other put their life in danger for the other.
